| Dental Crowns |
A crown is a cover that can be placed over an existing tooth to create a smoother, cleaner look and enhance durability. Crowns give the dentist the ability to control the color, shape and position of a tooth. When a tooth is fractured, has a large filling, or is severely damaged by decay, the placement of a crown may be recommended. Crowns can protect the remaining tooth structure and can improve the appearance of your smile.
Today’s well-constructed crowns look and function like natural teeth. Crown technology has improved over the years. Dr. Svoboda uses crowns that have a tooth colored hard base (no shiny metal) covered with matching porcelain. These crowns are made by computer aided design and milling techniques. They are accurate and do not have a black metal collar like most porcelain fused to metal crowns.
