November 2016: Tips, ENews & More!
Wishing Dr. Jez a fond farewell
and a warm welcome to Dr. Nguy

Change can be challenging and after over 30 years with Dr Svoboda's practice, Dr. Donna Jez is retiring in December of this year. We will miss her expertise and her significant contribution to the high level of dental care that you have all come to expect at ParkPlace Dental Centre. We will all miss her presence and wish her the best. Donna is looking forward to enjoying time with her grandchildren and travelling with her husband. Thank you Donna for sharing part of your amazing life with us!

We would also like to take this time to announce that we are lucky to have Dr. David Nguy join our practice! Dr. Nguy brings with him the latest teachings from the University of Toronto. We look forward to his up to date input and many years of service.

Can you believe that the year is almost over? November sometimes feels like an in-between time; some very cool days, occasionally mild days; after Thanksgiving, but still sometime before the end of year holidays, why not use the time to get ready for the winter season? As you're snacking on your Halloween candy stash, try and tackle an item or two off your check list of annual winter chores. Here's what's on our list of things to do; get out those winter jackets and boots from storage, put snow tires on if you have them, remove the garden hose so your pipes don't freeze, enjoy a steaming cup of hot chocolate.

As it gets colder, you might have noticed some increasing sensitivity with your teeth, when eating or drinking or even just going outside in the cool weather. Tooth sensitivity can be caused by a broken or decaying tooth, or worn down enamel from grinding. If you've been experiencing tooth sensitivity, make sure to get in touch with us, so we can get to the root of the problem.

With the end of the year approaching, if your dental benefits are based on the calendar year, you'll want to make sure you get in your checkup so they don't go to waste! Try and book an appointment as early as possible since they're sure to fill up fast.

Have a safe and healthy month,

Dr. Svoboda and the team at ParkPlace Dental Centre

Mind the Gap!

Are you hesitant to show your teeth when you smile?
Is your smile missing something?
Maybe even a full tooth!

Many people, for one reason or another, have lost a tooth. Reasons range from poor dental hygiene to any variety of accidents. Whatever the reason for the missing tooth we can repair your smile and replace your tooth with a dental implant.

A dental implant is a small prosthetic post that is placed into the bone of the upper or lower jaw. The post functions as the root portion of a lost natural tooth and serves as an anchor for a replacement tooth. An artificial tooth is then attached to the post. Dental implants look and feel exactly like natural teeth - in fact, no one other than you and your dentist will be able to tell the difference.
