For your added safety and comfort, Park Place Dental Centre in Brampton uses dental x-rays to aid us in the diagnosis and monitoring of your oral health.
Similar to an iceberg, only a portion of your tooth is visible to the naked eye.
Your tooth is composed of several layers, with a large and important portion hidden below your gum line and in your jawbone. The surface enamel that we can visibly examine is meant to protect the inner parts of a tooth that we can't see. Below your enamel is the Dentin, then the Pulp where the nerve and blood vessels nourish your tooth. Also hidden are your jawbone, joints, and ligaments that help support your teeth. Damage, infection, or abnormalities below the surface are often invisible but cannot be ignored.
Digital X-rays allow us to:
Don't worry: it's quick and easy! We place a small sensor in your mouth. An X-ray beam is then sent through your teeth: this records the image of your teeth on the sensor. The sensor is then scanned and the image is put in the computer.
